This is what I have done so far with the footage Filmed on Tuesday a few weeks ago, I'm quite pleased with it so far but there are some issues that may need addressing. I'm happy with the sequence of events and the way they are edited together, there are just a few rough edges I have to tidy up. I composed the the music my self in an online beat generator called Aviary, I tyred to create a creepy and uneasy impact to the sequence. I think the sounds and action matches are affective but they are not all smoothly Incorporated yet, there are some sudden stops. The only other problem is the lighting, all though I have attempted to brighten it in premier pro some of the shots may still be too dark when displayed on a large screen. but other than that I'm confident that with some tweaking and a potential re-shoot on some shots I will be able to iron out all of these kinks.

The production of the trailer seemed to go well and I thought that the use of light made the trailer very affective. This teaser trailer has similiar conventions to real media trailers because it uses the same technique in the way its filmed. The trailer links well with the ancillary texts becuase it uses the same style and I feel it fits together nicely. The main thing I noticed watching the trailer was the use of sound effects and transitions. The soundtrack matches well with particular sequences and sets a tone throughout. Although I beleive that towards the end of the production the sound becomes less powerful in creating a mood and perception. Overall the production and use of lighting and sound along with other aspects makes for a good teaser trailer.
ReplyDeleteI think that the production went well, it looks just like the trailors that you see on the tv. I think the music creates a good scary atmosphere, and I also like how the writing gradually gets covered in red, giving some of the story away but indirectly. It follows the typical conventions of a teaser trailor by using different clips of the film. With most of the teaser trailors that you see on the tv they also include a close up of the centeral characters face, when they are scared or distressed, this aspect appears in the video. When the action of the trailor speeds up, the music changes making the it seem a lot more tense. They have also used a good range of camera angles, and movements, such as tilting the camera up the body to reveal the centeral character, and when the camera pans to follow the character revealing the setting, revealing some more about the story. When the text appears it fades in and out making the trailor appear more creepy.
ReplyDeleteThis production of a teaser trailer for a film is very well made. You can easily understand what the genre of the trailer is by the eerie jingle which accompaines the opening scene. The surroundings also add too create the scary atmospshere and muchly increases the suspense that something bad is about too happen. The footsteps also contributes too the horror of what is in store. These are all well rounded conventions of an existing teaser trailer for example, the writing which comes into show throughout the trailer which gives the viewer a sense and helping hand too what is too come if they watch the whole film. The transitions between each of the clips is done quite well and makes the trailer much more dramatic. The only thing I found difficult was too see what was happening in certain bits of the trailer too to the natural lighting being rather dark, however, this may have been chosen due to wanting too add to the atmosphere of a horror trailer.
